Slip away from the bustle of Beppu and into Yufuin, a graceful hot spring town cradled beneath the twin peaks of Mount Yufu in the heart of Oita. Famous across Kyushu for its artistic spirit and gentle pace, Yufuin is at its most magical in the quiet morning hours — and together we’ll explore it before the day-trip crowds arrive, seeking out its calmer corners and authentic local charm.
We’ll begin high above the valley at the Sagiridai Observatory, where morning mist often drifts across the Yufuin basin below. From there we’ll wander down to the beautiful Kinrin Lake, where warm spring water meets the cool air and sends a soft veil of steam over the willow-lined shores. We’ll browse the craft shops and food stalls of Yunotsubo Kaido, then close the day the way Yufuin is meant to be felt — sinking into the soothing, mineral-rich waters of a carefully chosen local onsen.
This is more than sightseeing; it’s a chance to slow down and feel the gentle, authentic beauty of one of Kyushu’s most beloved onsen towns.

We’ll meet you at your hotel lobby or chosen pickup point in Beppu. After a warm hello, we’ll set off together in a comfortable private vehicle for the scenic drive to Yufuin. *Hotel pickup is available.
Our first stop is the Sagiridai Observatory, with a sweeping panorama over the whole Yufuin basin, watched over by the majestic twin peaks of Mount Yufu. On still mornings, a sea of mist often fills the valley below.
Next we’ll wander down to Kinrin Lake, whose warm, spring-fed waters send a gentle veil of steam over the willow-lined shores — at its loveliest in the soft early light. Beside it stands the quiet Tenso Shrine, its torii gate rising right from the water’s edge.
We’ll take a leisurely stroll along Yunotsubo Kaido, a charming lane lined with craft shops, small art galleries, and stalls serving local treats — from sweet rolled cakes to freshly fried croquettes.
